The accommodation in the new north wing consisted of an entrance foyer and an open, square-shaped auditorium. The Nova Scena (New Stage) was clad with 4306 specially blown glass blocks of 80 x 60 x 40 cm, each weighing 40 kg and made at the Kavalier works, Sazava. There were several design solutions before the final rather severe and solid but simple option was chosen. One suspects that the architect's choice of this monumental cladding material, set alight by the evening sun, was fuelled by the desire to display the skills of the Bohemian glassmakers.
