Four main columns, from ground to first floor, support four sculptural figures depicting scenes from the life and battles of the Czech legions by Jan Stursa: The Legion in the Trenches, Defiance and Courage, Waiting and Yearning for Home, The Throwing Grenades and Defence against Gas. The horizontal bas relief above, by Otto Gutfreund, shows The Legionnaires' Homecoming.

The style of this late-Cubist building is known as Rondo-Cubism in Bohemia. This architectural trend was influenced by Czech folklore motifs and possibly by Fernand Leger's style of painting which used circular forms as a development of Cubist painting.
