An attractive corner position, almost at the end of Celetna and the turning to Ovocny trh (previously the Fruit Market) which is terminated by the recently renovated Stavovske (Estates) Theatre. This building, designed for Frantisek Herbst, is another Cubist creation so particular and appropriate to Prague, a city which seems to have inspired the bizarre and extraordinary. In those days, when architects cooperated closely with artists, writers and poets, their motivation was fuelled by heated discussions, polemics and critiques. Richer architectural output, directly influenced by other artistic branches, was realized in comparison with present times where each artistic arena is closed and guarded from penetration by other muses.
