Architect, urbanist and teacher, studied at the Industrial Arts School and afterwards at the Institute of Decorative Arts under Professor Jan Kotera. After studies he joined Kotera's studio. A member of Skupina vytvarnych umelcu and later Manes. The main protagonist of Czech rational Modernism, Cubism and Functionalism.
